On Saturday, April 22 Kiwanis Club of Galena hosted the Annual Run for the Parks. Participants chose to run a 5k or 10k with all the profits of the fundraiser going to the City of Galena to assist with improvements to playground equipment for Bouthillier Park. On Tuesday, May 9 the club presented a $10,000 check to the city. On Wednesday, April 5, Culver’s hosted an all day Share Day that benefitted the Amaya/Berry family. The family lives in Galena and their house recently caught fire. With extra money left with lunch deliveries and left all day in the store collection, their cash donations were a little over $1,300 and a total of $2170.70 is going to the family.
