Although the Jo Daviess County Conservation Foundation (JDCF) has cancelled all public events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, JDCF does suggest that you practice social distancing while enjoying the foundation’s nature preserves that are open daily from dawn to dusk. Here are the suggestions: take the kids to Horseshoe Mound Preserve, grab the dog and head down the Galena River Trail to the Buehler Preserve, pack your binoculars for birding expedition to the Valley of Eden Bird Sanctuary, enjoy a picnic at the Wapello Reserve, learn about native trees on a self-guided tour at Schurmeier Teaching Forest or enjoy the mighty views of the mighty Mississippi River at Casper Bluff. Over 700 acres await!
