Letter carriers holding food drive

GALENA–Members of the National Association of Letter Carriers from the Galena, Elizabeth, Scales Mound, Hanover and East Dubuque post offices will be participating in Stamp Out Hunger on Saturday, May 14.

This is the 30th anniversary for what has become the nation’s largest food drive.

Postal patrons should simply leave a bag of nonperishable food items by their mailbox. Letter carriers will collect these donations and distribute them to local food pantries. This is the first food drive since the start of the pandemic in 2020.
