GALENA–W. LaVerne Greene, 82, Galena, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at Midwest Medical Center, Galena, surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday Sept. 23 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Galena, where friends may call after noon at the church until the time of the mass. The burial will be in the church cemetery. Following the committal service, a celebration of his life will be from 4-7 p.m. at the Galena Eagles Club. GALENA–Abbey Sue Ehrler, 20, returned home to God on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022. Abbey lived her life expressing love and kindness to all she knew.
The visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 19, from 1-6 p.m. at Ehrler Ranch Special Event Barn, 11866 Chetlain Lane, Galena. Services will follow the visitation at 6 p.m., with Reverend Howard Barch officiating. Dinner will follow the services. The committal service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 9:30 a.m., at the Wienen Mausoleum in Greenwood Cemetery in Galena. The Furlong Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with the services. ROCK ISLAND–Carol Sproule Bussan, 91, Rock Island and formerly of Galena, passed away peacefully at St. Mary Monastery in Rock Island with her daughters by her side on Monday, Sept. 5, one day before her 92nd birthday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Chapel of St. Mary Monastery, Rock Island. Visitation will be prior to Mass from 1-2 p.m. A reception will be held following the Mass. The Mass will be open to the public, but seating will be limited. Those planning to attend services at the Monastery are respectfully requested to be vaccinated. A committal service will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Galena, on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 11:30 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at Frank O’Dowd’s Irish Pub, Galena. APPLE RIVER–Hallie Louise Robinson Crowder, 94, was called to heaven just shy of her 95th birthday on Sept. 4, 2022 at her son’s home in Apple River.
Hallie’s services will be held at the Niebur Funeral Home, 530 W. Adams St., Pittsfield, Illinois on Sept. 10. Hallies’ grandson, the Rev Andrew Robinson, will be presiding. Visitation will precede the services from 10 a.m. with services to follow at noon. Interment will be at the Crescent Heights Cemetery, Pleasant Hill. GALENA–William (Bill) Francis Graham, 67, originally from Chicago and McHenry, passed away Thurs., Sept. 1, surrounded by family at home in Galena after a battle with ALS.
