10 percent of county fully vaccinated: Jo Daviess County remains in bottom half of state for vaccination numbers

GALENA–The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) released vaccination figures for Jo Daviess County on Monday, March 15.

According to IDPH, 10.94 percent of Jo Daviess County residents have been fully vaccinated, which puts Jo Daviess County at 75th among the 102 counties in the state.

There have been 6,488 doses administered and 2,338 individuals fully vaccinated in Jo Daviess County.

The county is reporting 1,616 cases of COVID-19 in Jo Daviess County since last March, which includes an increase of three new cases over the weekend. 1,585 of those cases have recovered. There remain 24 deaths in the county since last spring due to COVID.

According to IDPH, the 61036 zip code, which includes Galena, has had the most cases of COVID in the county with 462 since the start of the pandemic. East Dubuque’s zip code, 61025, is second with 288. The 61085 zip code (Stockton) has the third-highest total in the county with 278.

Across the border in Grant County, Wis., the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is reporting 4,693 cases of COVID including 82 deaths since last spring. In the census tract that includes Kieler and Hazel Green, there have been 476 cases with 7 deaths. In Lafayette County, DHS is reporting 1,480 cases and six deaths.

Grant County has fully vaccinated 8,810 residents or 17.2 percent of the population. Lafayette County has put two doses of the vaccine in the arms of 3,007 residents or 18.1 percent of the population.

Dubuque County, Iowa, has reported 12,505 cases since the pandemic started with 199 deaths.
