Here are the latest cancellations and postponements in the order they are received:

--The Galena Festival for the Performing Arts has cancelled its summer series in July.

--GALENA–Due to the Governor of Illinois issuing a “Stay at Home” order, Executive Order 2020-10, all public meetings of all County committees and boards are cancelled until the “Stay at Home” order expires after April 7.

--STOCKTON–Calvary Church in Stockton announces the cancellation of the event scheduled on Wednesday, March 25th with Dean Braxton.

--ELIZABETH–The Jo-Carroll Solid Waste Agency recycling event set for Saturday, April 4 at the Elizabeth Community Building has been cancelled. For any questions, contact Mark Maidak, event coordinator, 815-718-0238 or mwmaidak@gmail.com.

--GALENA–The city of Galena will be postponing the March electronics collection, which includes televisions and computer monitors, normally held on the last Friday of each month. The next monthly collection is scheduled for Friday, April 24, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Galena City Hall parking lot.

--GALENA–The Galena Music Boosters have canceled its April 4 rummage sale.

--DUBUQUE–Riverview Center has rescheduled its Evening of Light to June 25 at the Grand River Center in Dubuque. This event will all feature Michelle Knight, one of the women who escaped from Ariel Castro’s Cleveland home after 11 years of captivity, torture and abuse.

--ELIZABETH–The Jo Daviess County Health Expo set for April 23 has been cancelled.

--FREEPORT–The 2020 Highland Community College Job Fair has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 1 to 7 p.m., located on the second floor of the Student/Conference Center (Building H) room H-201 at Highland Community College. The Pre-Fair Retreat has been moved to 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, November 10, in H-210 with topics including how to write cover letters, resumes, and give a personal presentation. The Post-Fair Retreat, which covers social media ethics, interviewing skills and more will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, November 19.

--Sinsinawa: Cancelled events include: Thursday, March 26, Memory Café; March 27-29, Parables Retreat; Saturday, March 28, Handbell Workshop: Ringin’ Spring; Saturday March 28 Handbell Concert; April 3-5. Planting the Seeds (vocation retreat); Thursday, April 30, Memory Café.

--Crossroads Community Church will not be meeting for weekend services at its physical locations. Those interested can join online at crossroadscn.com, its YouTube Channel at Crossroadscn or on the Crossroads mobile app. The Crave youth gatherings are also postponed until further notice. The church will make additional announcements on other event and service schedule changes as they arise.

--Bishop David Malloy on Friday, March 13 issued a statement regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. His comments can be found in the accompanying link.

--The 22nd annul Galena Earth Day Fest scheduled for April 23 at Crossroads Community Church has been postponed. No date has been set. There may be an attempt to  create a virtual event instead.

--Volunteers and the American Red Cross were schedule to install smoke detectors for free in Galena on March 28 and in Hanover the following day. This activity has now been postponed.

--Galena-Stauss Senior Living Facility, Prairie Ridge of Galena and Elizabeth Nursing Home and Assisted Living have initiated complete visitor restrictions effective immediately.

--Midwest Medical Center has cancelled the use of its meeting spaces by outside groups during March.

--Rehearsals for Summit Street Singers and Fevre River Voices have been cancelled until further notice.

--March 27-28, Wine Lovers’ Weekend has been postponed until Sept. 18-19.
--May 6-10, Dog Days Pet-Friendly Week event postponed to Sept. 17-20.

--May 20 Civil War encampment cancelled.
