EAST DUBUQUE–Carl David Houy 79, East Dubuque, and formerly Galena, died of an unexpected illness on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 at Citizens Cemetery, rural Scales Mound. Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the cemetery.

The family asks that friends and family wear their favorite sports team attire to the service.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and masks are required.

The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sharon Bahr, 128 Peace Pipe Lane, East Dubuque, IL 61025.
