COVID cases continue to climb
GALENA–As of Monday, Dec. 21, Jo Daviess County reported 1,328 COVID cases since the spring. There were 17 new cases since Dec. 18 and 85 new cases since Dec. 14.
Approximately 1,240 of these cases have recovered. There have been 24 deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic with one since last Monday.
As of Saturday, Dec. 19, the three highest areas in Jo Daviess County for COVID have been 399 cases in the 61036 zip code (Galena), 251 in the 61085 zip code (Stockton) and 217 cases in the 61025 zip code (East Dubuque).
Grant County, Wis., has reported 3,952 cases as of Dec. 20 with 76 deaths. Lafayette County, Wis., has reported 1,185 cases with five deaths. The census tract that includes Hazel Green and Kieler had 389 cases as of Dec. 20 and six deaths since the start of the pandemic. The census tract that includes Benton and Shullsburg has reported 170 cases and no deaths.
Dubuque County, Iowa, has reported 10,235 cases since the spring and 133 deaths.
