First Jo Daviess County death from COVID-19

JO DAVIESS COUNTY–The county saw its first COVID-19-related death last week. The Jo Daviess County Health Department reported on June 5 that “a Jo Daviess County resident in their 50s has died from complications of COVID-19.” The health department did not specify date of death, gender nor community where the person lived.

As of June 8, there were 33 reported cases of COVID-19 in Jo Daviess County, including 12 in Galena. 717 test results have been reported to the department. 30 residents have recovered.

In Stephenson County there were 216 reported cases and five deaths, and in Carroll, there were 17 reported cases, and two deaths. In Grant County, Wis., there 99 reported cases, and 12 deaths. In Dubuque County, Iowa, there were 362 cases, and 21 deaths.
