DUBUQUE, Iowa–Hartig Drug Company has successfully established seven COVID-19 testing sites across the tri-states available at select drive-thru locations.
“It’s no small feat to operationalize these test sites in a few weeks while working through a global pandemic, which is a credit to our employees and their unwavering commitment to our communities’ health and safety,” said Charlie Hartig, CEO of Hartig Drug Company. “Our testing strategy supports any member of the tri-state community and makes the most effective use of our resources as we work to help safely reopen our local economy.”
Hartig Drug Company has performed over 1,500 tests in the tri-state free of charge.
Any member of the public can receive a test by registering at doineedacovid19test.com and scheduling an appointment at one of seven convenient Hartig locations.
Hartig Drug Company’s COVID-19 testing initiative has been extended through November in collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services and eTrueNorth, a laboratory services organization.
“We have been encouraging local health care providers, community organizations and our patients and customers to take advantage of free COVID-19 testing,” said Hartig. “We continue to work with community stakeholders to increase awareness and convenience to COVID-19 testing, particularly to underserved or at-risk communities that are being impacted by the pandemic.”
Self-swab tests at participating Hartig Drug Company drive-thru locations will be available to individuals who register in advance at doineedacovid19test.com. Testing will not take place inside any Hartig Drug location, which remain open to serve customers and patients.
Tests will be sent to an independent, third-party lab for processing and the results available, on average, within less than three days.
