GALENA–The Jo Daviess County Board met virtually the afternoon of Monday, April 13.

COVID-19 pandemic-related concerns were at the forefront of discussion.

Board chair Scott Toot raised concerns about secondary home owners who are coming to The Galena Territory and Apple Canyon Lake to stay during pandemic and are traveling back and forth between their homes.

“If you are going to come out here, please stay here and don’t go back and forth,” Toot said. “I think the facts bear that out and that folks need to do that. Chicago is a hot spot right now, and there is no denying that. Facts are facts.”

“We need to make sure that people are staying home,” said board member LaDon Trost.
