River Ridge School District makes change to substitute wages

HANOVER–The main topic at the Aug. 17 River Ridge school board meeting was an increase in substitute pay to attract more substitutes to teach in the district during the pandemic. The district approved a proposal from district officials to increase substitute pay to $95 per day for teachers and $12 per hour for non-certified substitutes.

•approved the 2020-2021 budget. Estimated revenue for the district was reported at $9,012,641 and estimated expenses were at $10,094,651.

•approved the Northwest Joint Agreement.

•accepted the resignation of Deb Hernandez as paraprofessional.

•hired Kristina Brubaker as a paraprofessional for the 2020-2021 school year.

•approved payment of $693,470.42 for bills and payroll.
