River Ridge officials impressed by students during pandemic
HANOVER–River Ridge Superintendent Brad Albrecht along with principals Mike Foltz and Beau Buchs, praised students for their work over the course of the pandemic.
The administrators said that in-person students have been unbelievable and have stepped up and followed the guidance remarkably since the return to school last month.
The three administrators also said teachers have been excellent in their ability to be flexible and willing to adapt to the ever-changing times.
As part of the changing landscape, River Ridge has also purchased Pixellots which will allow the district to stream games in the gym.
The program will also allow the district to stream on the National Federation of High Schools website and will be accessible virtually from anywhere for those that have a subscription to the service.
Other business
The board also:
•learned that the National Honor Society induction planned for Wednesday, Oct. 14 will be virtual.
•learned that boys and girls basketball can begin practices on Nov. 16.
•heard a presentation from Deb Reese on the Kami program the students are using for learning.
•approved the second reading policy updates.
•learned about website, HVAC and staff updates.
•accepted the resignation of Mike Dittmar as middle school girls basketball coach.
•approved the 2020-2021 extra duty list with a few vacant positions that the district is still looking to fill.
•directed Albrecht to pursue health insurance options.
•supported the village of Elizabeth’s TIF district.
•approved a temporary leave of absence request for Julie Harms.
•approved the resignation of Kassie Vail as a special transportation driver.
•paid bills and payroll in the amount of $735,700.42.
