Illinois State Police remind public of bridge weight limit

PECATONICA–There is a weight posting on a bridge on U.S. 20 three miles west of Stockton. The bridge weight limit of 15 tons was posted by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) on July 3 and remains in effect until further notice.


Water main work in ED

EAST DUBUQUE–There will be water interruptions in the Indian Hills Subdivision on Wednesday July 18, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. for water main work.

Grant Park court work underway

Work is underway on the basketball courts at Grant Park. East Galena Township funded the purchase and installation of two new goals at a total of $5,000. The township also pledged $5,000 each of the next two years for the court construction. Louie’s Trenching Service is donating the labor for the removal and the installation of the court and goals. The Louie’s crew, from left, Ryan Pregler, Nic Bingham, Mike Somers, Robby Murphy and Jeff Somers, did prep work on the site Thursday, July 12. Bard Concrete is discounting the concrete approximately 20 percent. According to Galena City Administrator Mark Moran, the city may not require the full donation from East Galena as a result of the donations and discounts.
