$20,000 in grants: Apple River State Bank, First Community Bank offer support to non-profits impacted by pandemic

GALENA–Through Apple River State Bank’s partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, the bank is providing $20,000 to support nine non-profit organizations impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are committed to supporting our customers and communities, now more than ever,” said Joel Holland, First Community Bank of Galena and The Apple River State Bank chief executive officer. “We are proud to share the $20,000 relief grant among these food pantries and other non-profit organizations in our communities. The organizations include Apple River Food Pantry, Elizabeth Food Pantry, Galena Food Pantry, Hanover Food Pantry, Hazel Green Food Pantry, Midwest Medical Center, The Mop Shop, Scales Mound Foundation and Warren Food Pantry.”

Holland added, “We are honored to join other community partners that have donated resources over the last several months. The strength of our communities in the midst of this crisis has been remarkable.”
