GALENA–The Jo Daviess County Sheriff is modifying operations at the Jo Daviess County Courthouse and Public Safety Building in light of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. Sheriiff Kevin Turner is asking the public to use precautionary methods when being out in the public.

Employees will continue to staff each office and will be available to assist the public. Citizens are directed to call first and speak with an employee to determine how the office can assist while keeping everyone safe from the spread of COVID-19.

Only persons with urgent and essential business will be allowed in the courthouse; all other business shall be conducted via phone or internet. Those who arrive at the courthouse without first scheduling an appointment will most likely be turned away. Any person who requests to enter the courthouse may be subject to a screening process, including but not limited to answering medical questions and having their temperature taken, before they are allowed to enter.
