Law-Jones Funeral Home talks precautions

GALENA–The safety and well-being of everyone is their highest concern, said Matthew Jones, of Law-Jones Funeral Homes.

“Myself and our entire staff are following the CDC guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19 community spread. Our facilities are being disinfected before and after any scheduled service or visitation. This includes all public areas. We are posting signage within our locations and advising visitors to make responsible decisions about attending services in person if they are symptomatic, or feel they have been exposed to COVID-19.”

For public visitations, the funeral home is limiting the number of people in the facilities at any given time. “We will be offering longer visitation times and providing a parking lot attendant. We ask that when you arrive, you remain in your vehicle until the attendant allows your party to enter. It is our goal to keep folks comfortable, with proper spacing, to diminish person-to-person contact while still being able to pay respects to the family.”

Those who do not with to attend due to health concerns can leave a condolence message on the website for the family. Jones said the funeral home is taking steps to live-stream many of the services with the family’s permission.
