Emily Larson received second place in her division at the Special Olympics Illinois state bowling event on Dec. 2. Out of 11 competitors the Jo Daviess Jaguars took to regionals, Larson was the only one who advanced. Larson said she improved her average and she was excited to receive second place. Practices for bowling started in June at Pioneer Lanes in Platteville, Wis.

The Southwestern Gymnastics Co-op held their 20th annual Jingle Bell Gymboree Christmas show on Saturday December 9th. It was a fun night with Gymnastics routines done to Christmas music. Some of the Hazel Green Gymnastics Club children also participated. At the end of the show Santa Claus made an appearance with gifts for all the performers.

Connor Glasgow from Galena leaps over Noah Danielson from AFC during their game on Dec. 15. Galena won the game, 61-24. Galena jumped out to the early lead and led at halftime, 44-17. After adding another 16 points in the third quarter, Galena was able to pull most of the starters. Glasgow led Galena in scoring with19 points. Drew Koenigs and Myles Schumacher each added 11 points.
