GALENA–Gary L. Krohmer, 74, Galena, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Midwest Medical Center, Galena.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at St. Mary Cemetery, Galena, where family and friends may gather after 10:30 a.m.

Military honors will be accorded graveside by Galena VFW Post 2665 and American Legion Post 193. Cremation rites have been accorded.

GALENA–Ralph Louis Blust, 82, passed away peacefully on July 28 in Galena.

A visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison, (2 miles west of Rte. 83 and 2 miles east of Rte. 53). A procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, immediately follows the service.

GALENA–On July 20, 2021, Frank August Netzel II quietly slipped away to the arms of the Lord that he served so well his entire life.

There will be a celebration of Frank’s life on Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. at Casper Bluff. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Aug. 7 in Park Ridge. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.

ELEROY–Eileen A. Snapp, 92, Eleroy, passed away in her home on Saturday, July 24, 2021, with her family by her side.

Visitation will be held at Leamon Funeral Home in Lena on Friday, July 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. with funeral services on Saturday, July 31 at 10 a.m. at the Lena United Methodist Church with Pastor Keri Rainsberger officiating. Friends may visit with family and say final good-byes to Eileen during the hour prior to the service. A celebratory meal will be held in fellowship hall immediately following the service. Eileen will be laid to rest near her husband and son in a private ceremony at White Oak Cemetery, Forreston.

GALENA–Esther Lieberman passed away only hours after celebrating her 94th birthday with beloved friends and family July 10, 2021, at a party at Recreation Park in Galena. She blew out her candles and joked with her son, Robert Lieberman; her sister, June Kraus Finfer; and her grandson, Noah Lieberman (Lauren), as well as nieces Bonnie Litch and Lisa Degen and nephew Larry Kraus, cousins Annalee and Joel Weisman, and dear friends including Amelia Wilson and Charlene Price.

Interment was at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 Rand Road, Arlington Heights on July 15.

A memorial service is planned in Galena at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 25 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, 100 Caroldon Court, Galena, where friends may gather after 1 until the time of the service. A reception will follow at Under the Lamplight Dinner Theater, 129 S. Main St., Galena. Donations would be appreciated to Dubuque Rescue Mission in memory of Esther.

PITTSBURG, Mo.–LeRoy J. Wienen, 75, Pittsburg, Mo., and formerly Galena, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at University Hospital, University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo., after a short battle with cancer.

A special service will take place at noon on Saturday, July 24 at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Galena, with the Rev. Joel Lopez officiating. Military honors will be accorded graveside by Galena VFW Post 2665 and American Legion Post 193. To celebrate his life, the family will be meeting at the VFW in Galena directly following the service.  Those who knew LeRoy are invited to attend the service as well or stop in the VFW.
