The 2022 Galena/East Dubuque/River Ridge boys track team won the NUIC conference championship on May 12 at Lena-Winslow High School. The championship is the program’s first since 2007. Benton graduate and current UW-Platteville student Will Lawrence was crowned the WIAC individual champion in the javelin throw on May 6 as the Pioneers competed at UW-La Crosse in the WIAC outdoor track and field championships. Lawrence threw a personal best of 60.69m (199-1). Lawrence’s throw put him in the top 10 javelin throwers in NCAA DIII.
