Madonna C. (Erner) Knockle, 99, East Dubuque, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church in East Dubuque, with the Rev. Peter Snieg officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time. A celebration of Madonna’s life will be held at a later date.

GALENA–Roger Lester Farrey, 82, Galena, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 21.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date after the COVID crisis has been mitigated.

Carol Jean (Vernetti) Grzelak, 74, daughter of Peter J. Vernetti and Mary M. (Balent) Vernetti, passed away on March 27, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic a private family funeral service will be held at Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg with Pastor Ed Santiago of Benton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Leadmine Primitive Methodist Cemetery.

The family will be having a public celebration of life once the gathering ban is raised.

BLOOMINGTON, Wis.–James C. “Lumpy” Hendrickson, 42, Bloomington, Wis., formerly of Galena, passed away April 8, 2020, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Potosi, Wis.

Jamie deserves a beautiful tribute. However, in this unknown time with Covid-19, having a public visitation is not possible. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Richard H. “Dick” Carroll, 74, East Dubuque, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at home surrounded by his family after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
